Evolving over a decade
A decade after Nisa’s bespoke EPoS system was first launched at the 2008 exhibition here at Stoneleigh, the team is back with the latest version to share the successes with members and showcase the latest tools.
The very first version of the IT system, called Epositive Store Solutions, premiered at Stoneleigh and was billed as being state-of-the-art, providing a range of benefits to members, allowing greater efficiency and enhanced customer service.
Chris Chadwick, IT Service Delivery Manager at Nisa, said the system was introduced to provide Nisa retailers with a tailor-made solution and was intended to make their lives much easier.
He said: “The EPoS system was developed for our members using their input to deliver a product that worked how they wanted it to. It provided better customer service, better control and increased profitability.”
Since its inception, the system has developed and undergone upgrades and in 2015 a new EPoS system, Evolution, was introduced to Nisa retailers. Built entirely from scratch, the system is unique to Nisa and to date almost 300 sites are now live with Evolution.
Chris said: “Evolution is a complete business management tool which is provided exclusively for our members. With the ability to access promotions, stock lists and point of sale all in one, simple, touch-screen system, Evolution really does revolutionise the day-to-day activity of our retailers and assists with almost every area of their business.”
Sam Samrai, Nisa retailer based in Slough is an Evolution convert. He said: “Evolution is the best thing since sliced bread. It really is the best system out there. Nothing compares to it. The aftercare is fantastic – Nisa resolve any issues straight away and never make you feel stupid.”
And with more developments in the pipeline, including self-checkouts and a mobile app, work is ongoing to encourage further uptake of the system.
