Flooding the Community with Christmas spirit
A community spirited Nisa retailer in Luton has helped get the festivities underway in his neighbourhood by hosting two special Christmas events.
Molly’s General Store in Lewsey Farm works closely with the local community all year round but at Christmas time the store goes the extra mile to ensure both young and old are spoiled.
Children from the nearby primary school are invited to a disco that has now become an annual affair and sees children treated to a disco and buffet as well as a visit from Santa and a gift for every child.
And the elderly people in the community have also been catered for with a special Christmas lunch event hosted at a nearby residential home.
Residents at the home, which is situated across the road from the Nisa Local, were spoiled with a three-course meal that was funded by Molly’s General Store and served to 46 elderly residents.
Scott Jell, manager at Molly’s, said: “We had a great day and the response we got from the residents was brilliant. We had 46 for dinner and was great effort from everyone involved.”
The Christmas events are just two of the community events the store hosts that benefit people living locally.
Scott said: “We make regular donations from our Making a Difference Locally charity to different local causes but we also like to run these events for the community and the ones we do at Christmas are always really well received.”
