Heritage Wine hits the spot
The launch of Nisa’s very own Heritage wine range has been hailed a roaring success with almost 20,000 cases pre-ordered over the two-day annual retail exhibition held at Stoneleigh last week.
The selection of five wines - which includes Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc in the whites, Shiraz and Merlot for the reds and a light and fruity Rosé – was on offer for tasting at the show and met with some very encouraging feedback.
Members enthused over the taste of the product as well as its look and feel and advance orders totalling just short of £300,000 were made.
Nisa’s wine buyer Emma Jenkinson said: “We worked really hard to secure this range of wines and a huge amount of effort went in to getting the finished product to look right and appeal to the consumer.
“Over the two days at Stoneleigh we had hundreds of people tasting the product and we got great feedback on both quality and taste. The wine was served on Tuesday evening at the gala dinner and went down well. The bottle design was also well received and generated really positive comments.”
Nisa member, Christopher Taylor of Taylor’s of Tickhill, who specialises in wine, placed an order at the show and said he was very impressed.
“The Heritage own label wine is well overdue. It is a dependable and reliable quality and a good price and it’s a steady price that my customers can rely on.
“I am convinced that once people start coming in and buying it, they will keep coming back for it time and again and I am very much looking forward to it coming into store.”
Heritage wine will be on shelves in June.
