New look for Heritage own-label biscuit range

Nisa’s own-label biscuit range has been given an overhaul in response to member feedback alongside new health recommendations.

Packaging on the entire Heritage range has been redesigned to make the biscuits easier to shop and a new pricing structure has been introduced after previous prices were deemed to be out of line with the marketplace.

Some recipes have also been tweaked to reduce salt and sugar content, in line with Public Health England recommendations.

Heritage Brand Manager at Nisa, Tracey Redfearn, said: “We listened to what our members said about our biscuit range who felt the original blue packaging was confusing as compared to most other biscuits that use specific colours for certain types of biscuits.

“Members also felt our pricing did not compare favourably to other brands and so we have taken that on board and now, apart from three lines in the range, our biscuits are all priced at two for £1, which is much more competitive for shoppers.”

The range was made available to Nisa Retail members at the recent exhibition at Stoneleigh for sampling and was also served to Nisa colleagues at the North Lincolnshire headquarters as part of a taster event.

Tracey said:

As well as member sampling, staff sampling is an important part of the Heritage marketing plan. It’s a great way to gauge how shoppers will respond to our products.

The feedback about the biscuits has been extremely positive and the whilst recipes have been altered the quality certainly has not been compromised.
