Nisa Retail Limited Reports Increased Store Numbers

Nisa Retail, the specialist wholesaler and independent retail expert, today announces strong retailer recruitment growth for 2016/17, following a positive quarter four performance.

  • Total of 545 new stores recruited in 2016/17
  •  Recruitment jumps 3.2% year-on-year
  • NET increase of 111 stores 
  • 225 new stores recruited in Q4 vs 113 last year. Net of losses this is 160 vs 46

Nisa Retail is pleased to announce that it closed its financial year having boosted its membership numbers with 545 new stores, versus 528 in 2015/16, equating to a 3.2% increase versus the same period last year.

The new stores include 140 from existing members, demonstrating the continued investment being made by Nisa retailers in their businesses and outlining the position of strength and security Nisa offers its members.

In addition to these new developments, 90 of the 300 Co-op stores acquired by McColls have now been delivered with the remaining stores scheduled to roll out by August, and a further 46 new McColls stores, not associated with the Co-op contract, also opened with Nisa. The 47 Bourne Leisure sites, including Butlins and Haven parks went live in Quarter 4 while 26 stores from M&O Trading also began working with Nisa in this period.

The group previously reported record recruitment for the 10 week Christmas period, with 77 new openings in the 10 weeks, compared to 54 last year, and continued its rich vein of form in the final quarter bringing in 225 new stores in that period up from 113 in the previous year and signalling a strong end to the financial year and positive momentum heading into 2017/18.

The growth sees a NET store increase of 111 and reflects the confidence new members have in Nisa’s overall offer and the progress made by the new management team in building on the previous year’s success to drive growth and profitability and create a sustainable business for the future. Nisa also saw 38 wholesalers join the business as it continued on its mission to be the partner of choice for retailers and wholesalers.

Recruitment has also been driven through the introduction of a new dedicated recruitment team, appointed to focus solely on new growth, supporting the retail team and making it even easier to join Nisa. The recruitment team is hosting 22 prospects at the company’s Stoneleigh exhibition this year as the pipeline of new recruits remains full for Nisa.
