Nisa to support colleagues in improving mental health

Nisa is supporting its colleagues next week with a raft of activity designed to promote better mental health and wellbeing.

In support of Mental Health Awareness Week, which takes place from the 13th - 19###sup/sup### May, Nisa will be running activity including ‘Resilience and Wellbeing’ workshops, Pilates classes and organised Nisa Miles walks, whilst encouraging colleagues to volunteer to be Mental Health Awareness Champions for the business. A list of free resources offering support and advice has also been circulated to colleagues and a Mental Health Toolkit created to aid colleagues who may be experiencing difficulties.

In addition, following a donation of £40,000 from Nisa’s charity towards the new Humber Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) appeal, Nisa colleagues will be fundraising for the appeal throughout the week with activity including a bake sale, raffle, blind auction, games and much more, whilst also collecting art and craft supplies for use at the new unit.

Deborah Broddle, HR manager at Nisa, said: “One of our core Nisa Values is to ‘value each other’ and therefore supporting our colleagues to look after their total wellbeing and their individual needs is very important.

“The activity we have planned to tie in with Mental Health Awareness Week is designed to support colleagues in taking time for themselves to reflect on their own wellbeing and learning about how we can support others. By training a number of Mental Health Awareness Champions we hope to be able to promote a better working environment for colleagues going forward.”
