Nisa’s charity launches new activity to increase social impact
Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity is launching two new engagement tools this month to expand the positive impact it has on communities across the UK.
Following a record amount donated through the charity in 2016, Making a Difference Locally (MADL) is looking to raise further awareness of the charity and support even more good causes with its new collecting tins, which were launched at Nisa’s retail exhibition on the 4th April. The tins will provide an additional income stream for the charity to allow retailers to accumulate funds quicker and give even more support to local causes within their communities, and are aimed at engaging more consumers and causes with the charity.
In addition, the charity’s website (www.makingadifferencelocally.com) will launch later this month following an extensive update and redesign, with new functionality that allows charities and good causes to register to be considered for a donation from their local Nisa store. Additional new features include a charity news section, details of suppliers who are supporting the charity and a ‘heat map’ of where donations have been made through Making a Difference Locally, so consumers can see the impact their purchases in-store have made in their local community.
Kate Carroll, Making a Difference Locally charity manager, commented: “Making a Difference Locally was established to help independent retailers to support local causes they care about, and these initiatives will allow our members to engage with even more causes in their communities.
“We’re delighted that the tins have already been really well received by our members and we hope the new website will help to connect more causes with these local retailers.
“Making a Difference Locally allows retailers to put money straight back into the communities where it is raised. These initiatives will hopefully encourage more consumers to get involved with both the charity and their local communities, and help us to make a difference to causes across the UK with even more donations throughout 2017!”
Making a Difference Locally will also be launching new branded PoS later in the year for retailers to further engage customers with the charity and highlight the initiative in-store.
There are currently over 2,300 stores participating in the Making a Difference Locally initiative. For more information about the charity visit www.makingadifferencelocally.com or www.nisalocally.co.uk/community/make-a-difference-locally.
