Retailers offered thirst quenching deals in Cider Festival event

Nisa is raising a glass to the arrival of spring and the hope of some milder weather with a Cider Festival event helping to drive footfall and increase sales.

Running for three weeks from Monday March 26th to Sunday April 15th, the event will help Nisa Retail members to driver extra sales with competitive pricing and offers on a range of ciders.

This will be supported with themed marketing materials and POS including shelf hangers, hanging signs, posters and gondola ends to help retailers to create eye-catching in-store theatre for shoppers.

With research revealing that 50 per cent of cider shoppers buying products that were on promotion and 35 per cent saying they buy cider as a treat, Nisa members are being encouraged to have a good offering in their stores to help increase basket spend.

The Cider Festival has now become established as an annual event from Nisa with last years promotion run at the same time of year generating sales totalling £1.84m from promoted lines over the three-week event.

Ciders on promotion for the festival include Kopparberg 10x330ml at £10, Smirnoff cider 10x330ml at £10, Strongbow and Strongbow Cloudy Apple 10x440ml at £8, 500ml bottles of Rekorderlig 2 for £4 and Kingstone Presse 12x440ml at £6.

Nisa’s Trading Controller for beer, ales and cider, Sam Yeadon, said: “The resurgence seen in the cider market in recent years continues and we have had some real success in our previous Cider Festival events.

“We’re confident that again, we are providing a strong offer to our members and their customers and we hope the event will drive an uplift in sales for our retailers.”
