Wishing Ethan a wheelie good time this Christmas

Christmas came early for a little boy from Merseyside when Nisa named a lorry after him as part of a special event arranged in his honour.

Five-year-old Ethan Mason, from Crosby, is mad about anything with wheels and especially loves lorries so a truck with his name printed on the front and the chance to sit in the cab and honk the horn was the perfect gift.

The event, hosted at the Nisa Local in Park Lane, Bootle, was arranged to brighten up Christmas for Ethan who is battling Battens Disease and is expecting a tough year ahead.

Diagnosed a year ago, after starting to demonstrate developmental problems at the age of 18 months, Ethan’s doctors have told his parents Shane and Tracey to expect the next 12 months to be difficult with Ethan likely to lose his sight as well as the ability to walk and talk.

And Ethan’s face lit up when he sat in the truck with his mum and was then welcomed instore by Santa Claus who presented him with some early Christmas gifts including a miniature Nisa lorry.

Ethan’s mum Tracey Rossiter said: “It’s been such a lovely treat. Ethan loves anything with wheels and this is such a fantastic gift for him.”

The naming of the lorry follows on from Nisa’s 40th birthday celebrations in 2017 which saw 40 delivery lorries named after 40 Nisa customers as part of a shopper competition.
